Blueberry Lemon Spritzers

Hey there blog fam! It has been a hot minuto since I have posted and I have missed it terribly. It has been a busy and super fun summer so far. I had a blast in New Orleans in May eating (and drinking) everything in sight. We had tickets to see The Rolling Stones at JazzFest, but the concert ended up getting cancelled. I was so sad but luckily, they are continuing the tour and my family and I will be seeing them in July in Jacksonville! I will thankfully be heading back to the Big Easy in August for my friend’s birthday. So I cant wait for that trip as well! I have also been squeezing in as many beach trips as possible. I went to St. Augustine Beach earlier in the summer, which is always such a good time. We stayed in the cutest beach bungalow and visited the San Sebastian Winery. This was later followed by my family’s annual summer vacay to St. George Island. The weather was absolutely perfect. The Atlantic is so beautiful but nothing beats the gulf coast. I reckon being raised in the Florida Panhandle can make you biased about that.

Anyway, debrief is over. On to the wine spritzers! I was assigned by my mom to make a “sassparilla” for our beach trip. I am not sure if this is a common phrase in the world, but it basically means a delicious concoction with no shortage of alcohol. Let’s just say, I delivered. Is that a horn I hear tooting? Toot toot, biatch! Read on to get the full recipe…

Blueberry Lemon Spritzers

1/2 cup blueberry vodka

1/2 cup Triple Sec

1 bottle of white wine

2 cups blueberry juice

2 lemons, sliced

1 cup of blueberries

Club soda

Like most of my food and drink recipes on the blog, this one takes less than 5 minutes to whip up. This is the ideal make-ahead punch. Grab a pitcher and add in the blueberries, sliced lemons, blueberry juice, Triple Sec, blueberry vodka and white wine (I used Pinot Grigio…are you surprised?) Give it a stir and let it sit in the fridge overnight. When ready to serve, top each glass with club soda.

These were so refreshing to drink on the beach. Fruity but not too sweet. They definitely didn’t last long around my family and me!

Give these a try at your next beach party or 4th of July BBQ! What are your summer plans? Let me know in the comments below!
