Current Beauty, Skincare & Other Favorites

Hey pals! I don’t know about ya’ll, but I am living for this time of year. It is currently a crisp 58 degrees in Florida and I could not be more excited. Although summertime was full of fun beach days, sipping sangria and BBQs, it was also hot as h-e-double hockey sticks. So we are definitely thankful for cooler weather here in the Sunshine State. Plus, Halloween is days away. Pumpkin patches have popped up, porches are adorned with spooky décor and you can finally sleep with the windows open. What a time to be alive. Anyway, here are a few things I have been loving as of late!

Colourpop Pressed Eye Shadow in “Snake Eyes” ($5): I just love Colourpop. I have not found such a wide range of makeup products at such a low price point pretty much ever. I own a few of their pressed eye shadows. While I like them all, this shade definitely takes the cake. I love any kind of metallic golden, pinky or taupe-y eye shadow so this shade is right up my alley. It adds the perfect amount of shimmer to any eye look, day or night. I really just can’t get enough of this color. Plus, these eye shadows are only $5 a pop! Is that even legal? Helpful tip: These Colourpop metallic/shimmer pressed eye shadows are best applied with your finger.

Too Faced HangoveRx Face Primer ($16-34): I always have a difficult time finding face primers that work for me. Many primers have silicone in them, which is great for reducing the appearance of pores, but those type of primers tend to leave my skin feeling parched. On the flipside, some moisturizing primers hydrate my skin, but do not necessarily prolong the wear of my makeup. When I tried this Too Faced primer sample, I immediately fell in love because it does both! It provides a hydrated and smooth canvas to apply makeup on and I feel like it makes my makeup last longer. Plus, I love the name of it…we all need extra hydration when we are hungover, right? I will definitely be buying the full-size of this in the future.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash ($10): This. Stuff. Smells. Amazing. Seriously. I love all of Soap and Glory’s body washes because they all smell so great. The citrus and sugary scent of this body wash is honestly heavenly. It lathers perfectly, has a pump and $10 for over 16 ounces of product is a bargain to me! No negative reviews here.

L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara ($10): If I had to choose one makeup product I could not live without it would hands down be this one. I have been a die-hard fan of the original L’Oreal telescopic mascara in the gold tube for years, but this one tops it. The wand is very similar to the original but it is even blacker and more lengthening. I have pretty long eyelashes naturally but, since they are blonde, without mascara you can’t really tell. So this mascara makes the biggest difference in helping my eyes look more awake. It really helps darken and separate my lashes perfectly. I will keep repurchasing this over and over.

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Mist ($25): I am not much of a hair girl. I throw my hair in a ponytail or bun pretty much everyday and cut it maybe once a year. So, when I received a sample of this hair mist I was kinda “ehh” about it, but gave it a shot anyway. Surprisingly, I liked it a lot! I spritzed it all over my hair after showering, focusing on the ends, and then just let it air dry. This stuff saved my split ends and made my hair so soft! It also smelled so fresh and lasted forever. If you are looking for a low-maintenance hair product, give this one a go!

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens: This book is one of the best books I have read in a very long time. While our power was out after Hurricane Michael hit Florida, I could not put this book down. If you love coming-of-age stories as well as murder mystery/suspense and romance, this is the book for you. I won’t give anything away but Delia Owens does an amazing job detailing the coastal marshland setting and the characters to where you get a perfect image in your head. You can smell the smells and hear the voices of the characters as if they were speaking directly to you. I adored this book and would be very surprised if it was not turned into a movie one day. This is a must-read!

Sassy T-Shirt from Five Below ($5): I thought this tee was absolutely hilarious. Pair it with some jeans and sunglasses and you get a perfect don’t-fuck-with-me outfit to wear when you don’t feel like socializing. Plus, $5 is hard to beat!
