We are fully immersed in the dog days of summer. It’s hot. It’s humid. It’s uncomfortable. Complaining aside, summertime does have its perks. Swimming in the ocean, lounging by the pool and perfecting your tan. The best part about summertime, though, has to be all the fresh fruit…and soaking said fruit in a pitcher of alcohol. Read on to get the recipe for this delicious wine spritzer filled with a medley of blackberries, cherries and mango!
Berry Cherry Mango Spritzer
1 large bottle of Sauvignon Blanc
1 cup of Triple Sec
1 carton of blackberries
1 cup of cherries, sliced
1 mango, chopped
1 small jar of maraschino cherries
1 or 2 ice cube trays
Blackberries, cherries and mangoes are some of my favorite summertime fruits. Pick your favorites and let’s get to it! Chop up the mango and slice and de-pit the cherries.
Add almost all of the fruit to a pitcher, reserving a few pieces for some boozy ice cubes. Pour in the Sauvignon Blanc and Triple Sec. Give it a quick stir and chill overnight, or at least 2-3 hours.
Fill the ice cube trays with the leftover fruit. Add a dash of maraschino cherry juice to each one, and top off with a little bit of wine. Freeze these overnight.
When it is time to serve, pop out the boozy ice cubes and place them in some glasses along with a few pieces of fruit. Pour in the fruity wine deliciousness and top it off with club soda to add the spritz.
