What is Better Than a St. Patrick’s Day Dog Party?

Our sweet baby boy Mackie turned 1 year old on St. Patty’s Day! I remember when he was just an 8 week old ball of fluff with bat ears and quite possibly the cutest thing I had ever laid eyes on. In just a short 365 days, our tiny bundle of cuteness turned from this…

Since Mac is a St. Patrick’s Day baby, my boyfriend and I had a mini clover-filled birthday party complete with mini green leprechaun hats and homemade puppy treats! #DogParentStatus. If you want to see an easy dog treat recipe that your pups will love and some pretty adorable pictures then just keep scrolling!

If you were only here for the cute AF pup pictures then I 100% understand, but if you want your dog to love you even more, make them these homemade treats! They are so easy to throw together and the pups absolutely loved them.

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats

3 cups rolled oats
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup coconut milk
4-6 fresh mint sprigs

Combine 2 cups of the oats, pumpkin and peanut butter into a bowl. I used my mixer but you can also mix together by hand.

Then, blend the coconut milk and mint together until smooth. The idea was to make the treats green for St. Patty’s Day, but as you can see, they did not turn out quite as green as expected. Regardless, the mint flavor will help freshen your dog’s breath and they love the taste!

Pour the milk and mint mixture into the other ingredients and combine well.

Then, take the remaining cup of oats and set aside. Start taking bite sized pieces of the treat mixture and rolling it into balls with your hands. Coat the outside of the treats with the remaining oats and set onto a baking sheet.

Once all the treats are done, place in the fridge. This will help the treats bind together better. Serve them to the pups and watch them disappear! My fur children gobbled these up and were licking their lips for more. I will definitely be making these again!
